We witnessed empty plots giving way to lush neighborhoods, solitary roads making space for 8-lane highways, and big dreams slowly taking tangible shape in the form of lively residential communities.
Over the years, Dubailand has become one of Dubai’s most sought-after districts. Its strategic location caters to the luxury of convenience while retaining the quiet solace of suburbia. Situated off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), Dubailand’s location is strategic, providing easy access to many parts of Dubai
About Dubailand Location
Dubailand covers a large area of over 3 million square feet near Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311). This vast region splits into many districts, each with a unique appeal, like Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, Dubailand Oasis, Majan, FalconCity of Wonders and Villanova. The community started as a big plan with six themed worlds but now stands as a connected residential spot. It suits people seeking various homes, fun places and easy city living.
When I first arrived here, I felt curious about its development. Truthfully, I was really impressed by how easy it is to reach this place while still feeling separate from Dubai’s busy areas. Dubailand Location combines the best of both: a retreat without truly leaving.
The Location Advantage
Dubailand’s location is very easy to reach. Living here, you notice nearby roads like Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), Emirates Road (E611) and Al Qudra Road (D63). This corridor links Dubailand to New Dubai neighborhoods like Dubai Media City and Downtown Dubai in approximately 25 minutes.
What I love most about our location is the connectivity it lends in a city as sprawling as Dubai. The Dubai International Airport is only 20 miles away, roughly a 30-minute drive via the E311 and E611 highways. Other parts of Dubai like Bur Dubai and Deira are only 20-25 minutes from our doorstep.
The neighboring emirate of Sharjah is a 35-minute drive away. For outdoor adventures, we are well connected to drivers’ go-to destinations like Hatta and the sand dunes. Most major Dubai attractions - from the iconic Burj Khalifa to performance venues like Coca-Cola Arena - fall within a 30 minute radius.
The extensive road and highway infrastructure here keeps Dubai conveniently accessible even while being physically removed from its frenetic pace.
Family Friendly Attractions At Your Doorstep
Dubailand offers many entertainment places and attractions for families nearby. Dubailand calls itself the fun capital of the area.
IMG Worlds of Adventure, Dubai’s largest indoor park, covers 1.5 million square feet. With Marvel and Cartoon Network areas, this place 15 minutes from our home provides endless fun for everyone. Close by is Mattel Play! Town, a dinosaur-themed park perfect for younger children. Dubai Parks and Resorts have Bollywood Parks, Motiongate and Legoland just 20 minutes away.
Our location is between Global Village, the biggest cultural event in the region 15 minutes away and the Miracle Garden, Dubai’s flower display, 25 minutes by car. Each year, these spots brighten the winter months. Dubai Mall’s VR park is only 30 minutes away.
I like how, despite simple buildings and delayed projects once making Dubailand feel empty, it has grown into an unmatched fun spot with endless adventures.
Thriving Neighborhoods All Around
While Dubailand itself spans 25 square kilometers, we are nestled around some of Dubai’s most popular neighborhoods and thriving residential developments. Each community brings its own personality, amenities and attractions to our doorstep.
To our south is Dubai Sports City the Middle East’s premier sporting hub full of academies, residential zones, clubs and sports pitches. Home to cricket’s ICC Academy and football club Manchester City FC’s training grounds, Sports City offers state-of-the-art fitness facilities that my children love to utilize.
Next to Sports City lies the luxury community Dubai Hills Estate and the expansive green suburbia of Arabian Ranches with its family-centric lifestyle. Beyond is the bustling Studio City, Dubai’s media hub that is Hollywood-inspired in design with its retro style diners and quirky entertainment attractions like Roxy Cinemas.
The revamped Motor City is adjacent to Studio City, popular for luxury automobile owners and motorsport enthusiasts with its Formula 1-inspired community layout. These attractions, alongside neighboring Silicon Oasis, all fall between a 10-25 minute drive making recreational variety highly accessible.
Venturing Further For Weekend Fun
While there are many leisure hotspots and thriving neighborhoods surrounding Dubailand, sometimes you need a change in scenery. Perhaps a beach day, alternate retail therapy or culture immersion is in order. That’s when our location advantage shines best as we remain well connected for such mini weekend getaways.
The iconic Kite Beach and Mall of Emirates are just over 30-minute drive away promising sun, sand, surf, skiing, cinema and abundant shopping in one go! Downtown Dubai is also roughly 30 minutes from our home for when we fancy marveling at the Burj Khalifa before retail therapy in the sprawling Dubai Mall or immersive entertainment courtesy VR Park Dubai.
The famous Miracle Garden has whimsical, ever-changing floral sculptures about 30 minutes from Dubailand along Emirates Road. Here, my kids love walking through the aromatic flower trail illuminating Dubai’s record-setting Footprint structure among other blooming marvels.
In the mood for culture? Historical districts like Al Fahidi and Al Seef are 20-25 minutes drive, great to wander the meandering souks by day and dine waterside by night. When missing greenery, the expansive Mushrif Park located 35 minutes from us promises botanical beauty and family entertainment from water slides to bicycle trails across sprawling landscapes.
With extensive multi-lane highways seamlessly connecting Dubailand to every part of Dubai, recreational variety remains abundantly at our fingertips.
Schools Too Close For Comfort
Education and learning opportunities for young residents have also multiplied over the years. GEMS First Point School, located minutes from our home offers the trusted National Curriculum for England upholding stellar values and state-of-the-art facilities for over 1600 students.
Many newer curriculums have debuted in Dubailand, including the Aquila School close by that follows the UK curriculum, while ambulant Fairgreen International School nearby adopts the globally recognized IB program. Students can transition smoothly from nursery to university education with campuses by Amity, Rochester and Wollongong universities in Dubai International Academic City just a 20 minute drive away.
The Future in Dubailand
As much as Dubailand has matured over the years from barren desert to self-contained city, I remain even more excited at its monumental potential as one of Dubai’s fastest upcoming megahubs. The sheer range of developments already underway promise to catapult Dubailand into the limelight as a bigger, better global destination.
The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan earmarks the wider Dubailand area as the city’s prominent leisure and tourism spot. Ongoing projects like Mall of the World when completed by 2027 will encompass the world’s largest shopping mall alongside year-round climate controlled promenades.
The intricate corridor to Downtown Dubai and Sheikh Zayed Road has been named the Dubai Future District, anticipating cutting-edge innovations and technology powerhouses to mushroom with time. New family mega attractions like Marvel World Dubai are also launching nearby.
Falconcity of Wonders continues to pique my interest, envisioning architectural marvels of the world reproduced on Dubailand soil alongside corresponding museums. Imagine not needing visas or airfare to snap selfies at the Taj Mahal or pyramids! This expansive development seems perfectly tailored for the Instagram age.
The Balanced Life in Dubailand
Ultimately, the Dubailand Location offers everything one needs for a balanced, fulfilling lifestyle. Whether it’s the ease of access to major roads, the array of schools, shopping options, or recreational activities, this community has been thoughtfully planned to cater to all ages and interests. My experience of living here has been nothing short of wonderful, with the mix of calm living, community connection, and city convenience creating the perfect home environment.
If you’re considering moving to Dubai Land or just want to explore more about what it offers, I highly recommend visiting. You’ll get a sense of the space, see the beauty of its diverse neighborhoods, and, like me, you might just fall in love with it. Dubailand isn’t just a residential area; it’s a vibrant community, a promising investment, and, most importantly, a wonderful place to call home.
